Shop the Sale at Madla bydelshus (Autumn 2019)

Stavanger Kids Sale is THE PLACE to find quality, gently used items for babies, kids and mothers-to-be in the greater Stavanger area.  We have 250 sellers and more than 25,000 items, so you just can't beat the selection!

Come and stock up on all the things your kids need for a fraction of the price you'd pay in retail stores!  The sale is set up like a retail environment so it is easy to find what you are looking for.  Clothes are sorted by gender and age, and like items are grouped together (toys, sports gear, books, etc.).  Due to security and space concerns, shoppers are not permitted to bring strollers/prams, and personal bags (other than a SMALL purse) into the sale hall.  Baby carriers that you wear (not infant car seats) are permitted.
We will be checking shoppers as they enter and leave.  So please plan accordingly!

...Shopping FAQ....

1. When and where is the Stavanger Kids Sale held?  How does it work?
We had our first sale in January 2009, and since then have held two sales a year--in March and September.  The Stavanger Kids Sale is h at Madla bydelshus.  Individual sellers register online, set their own prices, prepare their items, and drop them off at the sale.  Items must be in very good to excellent condition.  Sellers earn 70-75% of the selling price.   The autumn 2019 sale will be held 14-15 september 2019, and is open from 10:00-16:00 both days.  Interested in being a seller?  See Seller Info.

2. What types of items will be for sale?
Children's clothing (0-14 years), maternity clothing, shoes, baby gear (strollers/prams, car seats, highchairs, baby carriers), children's linens, toys, games, puzzles, infant toys, furniture (changing tables, cribs/cots, bassinets), room decor for children, DVDs, CDs, books for kids, books for adults, feeding supplies, bathing supplies, sports gear, and so much more!!

3.  How do I get to Madla bydelshus?  How is the parking?
Madla bydelshus is located at Åsta Kongsmorsgate 20, Hafrsfjord (click here for a map).  Lots of parking is available in a parking lot shared by Madla bydelshus and Madlamark kirke, but THESE LOTS FILL QUICKLY AT OUR BUSIEST TIMES--especially Saturday morning.  You may park at Gosen skole just 400 meters away.  We encourage you to carpool or take public transportation if you come on Saturday morning.  The closest bus stop is Madlamark kirke.  Please see www.kolumbus.no for bus routes.

4.  Is there a fee to enter?
There is no admission fee.

5.  What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash and bank cards (Norwegian debit cards with the Bankaxept logo).  We do not take credit cards or bank cards from foreign banks.
6.  Can I bring my kids?
You are welcome to bring your kids to the sale on Saturday and Sunday, but we encourage you not to.  The sale can be very busy and crowded (especially Saturday morning).  You must keep your kids close to you at all times, and please do not let them play with the toys.  Due to space and security concerns, we do not allow customers to bring their own strollers/prams/car seats into the sale hall--they must be "parked" in the room "stova" just off the café.  If you have your baby with you, make sure to bring a baby carrier that you WEAR (not carry).  Your family can enjoy a shopping break at the café which is open during the hours of the sale.

7.  Can I try on clothing?
Unfortunately it is not possible to try on clothing.  Take your children's measurements and make a note of their sizes before you come to the sale.  We will have a few measuring tapes on hand if needed.
8.  Is it possible to return an item?
We do not take returns. All sales are final.  Please inspect your items carefully before purchasing (remember that they are USED), and ASK if you have questions.  Because of the international makeup of the Stavanger area, you should pay special attention to certain items:
  • You will find DVDs from both Region 1 (North America) and Region 2 (Europe).  Not all DVD players will play DVDs from both regions.
  • You may find some electrical items (bottle sterilizers, baby monitors, etc.) that have been purchased in countries which have either a different plug, electrical voltage, or both.  Therefore, you may need a converter or adapter to use some items in Norway. Read the descriptions on the price tags and make sure you know what you are buying!

9.  How does the half-price sale work?
All items will be sold for the full price on Saturday.  On Sunday from 10:00-16:00, many of our remaining items will be sold for half price.  Please note that whether an item is sold for half price is up to the individual seller, so not all items will be 50% off on Sunday.

How do you know which items are discounted?  ve a look at the price tag for each item.  If it says Discount: Yes, the item will be sold for 50% off.  The discount will be applied automatically at checkout.  If it says Discount: No, the item will be sold for the full price, and no discount will be applied.
