How to Select & Prepare Your Items
Help us to maintain our reputation for selling quality items by being selective about what you sell. Think "gently used."
As a seller, you are responsible for selling only QUALITY items. It is very important that you inspect your items carefully and select only the best items to sell. All it takes is one bad item for a customer to form a negative opinion about the sale. Our customers expect that the items they purchase can be used without having to first make repairs, replace missing pieces, or deep clean.
We have a LOT of clothes at the sale, and limited space. If you try to sell everything you own, you will be disappointed, and you'll frustrate our customers. Don't make our customers have to dig through ratty clothes to get to the good stuff. We will inspect your items before you check in, and we reserve the right to reject items that do not meet our standards.

AFTER SORTING THROUGH YOUR ITEMS, PREPARE AND PACKAGE THEM. MAKE SURE YOU:
ITEMS GET THROWN AROUND BY CUSTOMERS, SO MAKE SURE YOU PACKAGE ITEMS SO THAT ALL PARTS STAY TOGETHER.
- wash all clothing, bedding, seat covers & cloth toys. You are not required to iron clothing, but experience tells us that the nicer they look, the better they sell.
- thoroughly wipe down all toys and equipment -- it doesn't take long to do, and you'll have a much better chance of selling your stuff.
- remove dirt from shoes and only sell shoes that are like new -- all others will be rejected.

- Clothes are grouped together by gender and size, and are either hung on clothing racks or placed in bins under the racks. Use zip ties (most secure), or large safety pins (when no clothing label/zipper hole/button hole etc. is available to loop zip ties through) to ensure that clothing sets stay together.
- Shoes should be ATTACHED TO THEIR MATES WITH ZIP TIES. Shoes that are simply placed in plastic bags have a greater risk of getting lost or stolen (yes, we know this from experience!). Do not sell your shoes in boxes--they are likely to get separated and to go missing. If you are unable to attach the shoes together with zip ties, we recommend that you do not sell them,
- When possible, toys with multiple parts should be secured to each other with zip ties. They can also be placed in clear, heavy duty plastic bags, but keep in mind that shoppers often open plastic bags, and pieces can go everywhere. Make sure all parts are securely attached.
- Equipment manuals and original packaging should be included when available. Depending on space, you will be asked to assemble small gear items at drop-off. For larger items that will not be assembled (cribs, for example), consider including a photo of the product in its assembled state so that buyers know what it looks like when put together. If you are selling a stroller or travel crib/cot, please include instructions on how to collapse them so that the customers (and our volunteers) do not have to struggle to figure it out; this one piece of information can actually make or break the sale.
