How to Enter Items in MyCM - ONLINE SALE

In order for you to sell items at our sale -- whether at the physical sale or in the online shop -- you need to enter your items in our system, My Consignment Manager (MyCM).  As of the summer of 2020, MyCM has a new mobile-friendly seller web application that makes it even easier to enter your items.  ​

Once an item is entered, you can print out a price tag that is specific to that item.  Each tag contains your Seller Number, item number, information about your item, and a barcode.  

  • At our physical sales: When shoppers check out, the tags from the items they purchase are removed and the barcodes are scanned into our system.
  • For our online sales: Special tags specific to the online sale must be attached to each SOLD item that you drop off at Madla bydelshus.  These will be available for you to print out AFTER the online sale closes. See HERE for more details.  We will not remove tags from these items, but we will scan the barcode on each tag to register that you have delivered the product. We will sort all items by UBC, or Unique Buyer Code, so it is imperative that your items have these tag attached.

If you have items in the database from earlier sale, you may transfer these items to the online sale.  However, you will need to upload a photo of each item, and you may need to change the category and/or size/subcategory in order for it to be accepted by the system. 

All items must be entered into your MyCM account by SUNDAY, 9 May at 12.00 noon (this is in the middle of the day) at which time the sale will lock. We will review your items and get in touch with you if you need to make any changes. All items in the database will then be uploaded to the sale's online shop.  You will still be able to print tags (wait until the online sale is over), but will NOT be able to add items, or change prices or details.  Please plan accordingly!

Log in to your MyCM account. Click on Manage Items and then on the Add button. Your Seller Number and Item Number will be entered automatically, but you need to fill out the information about each item.  Enter the following for each item:

Your item's photo can make or break a sale.  See Photo Tips for more details.

​1.  ADD PHOTO
In order for your item to be added to the online store, you have to upload a photo.  Press/click Browse to add a photo.  If you use a PC/Mac, you can browse and upload photos in your computer.  If you use your mobile phone, you can upload a photo from your Photo Library, or you can take a photo right from your phone!  EASY!

It is important to look at the list of items you added in Manage Items.  You will see a thumbnail of the item's photo in the Category column.  If you can see the full picture behind the category words, then the picture is loaded.  If not, you need to upload the photo again.  Only items with fully-loaded photos will be added to the online shop.  Note that the system only allows one photo per item at this time.​


Please note the following:
  • Photos larger than 20 megapixels/megabytes​ will not be accepted by Shopify.
  • JPEG is the safest/best file type to use for your photos.
  • Make sure your photo is right side up when it uploads. If it isn't, upload it again correctly.
  • Collage photos can be used BUT we have had issues with some collage photos not loading into Shopify--particularly ones with 3 or more photos.  Often the cause was the file type/size.  If you want to use a lot of collage photos, email the sale organizer, Karin, to have her try to upload some of your products into Shopify to make sure they will be accepted. Do this as soon as possible!
  • If you are selling prams or other items that require additional photos or a longer description, please email the sale organizer, Karin,  with the photos/description as soon as possible.

The category and subcategory/size you select will determine where each item will show up in the online shop.  It is imperative that you follow our instructions.  Customers have the right to return items that were mislabelled (for ex. wrong size), and sellers will be charged 10% of the selling price (minimum 20 kr) for each returned item.

​2. CATEGORY
Select the appropriate category for your item.  Note that we have changed many of our categories (added some new ones and taken some away) so that we can keep the online shop as organized as possible.

3. SUBCATEGORY or SIZE
Depending on the category you select, you will select either a size or a subcategory for each item.   Only the subcategories/sizes that are allowed for each category appear in the drop down list.  (For clothing, you will select sizes.  For toys, you will select a subcategory like  Puzzles , Doll and Accessories, or Toy Vehicles.).  Note that you will now find (and must use) European shoe sizes under Boy's Shoes, Girl's Shoes, and Sport Footwear.  See KIDS' SHOES for more info.

Shoppers can use the search box to find specific brands and products.  Make sure your descriptions are clear and accurate so that customers don't miss YOUR products! 

4. DESCRIPTION/BRAND NAME
You MUST enter the brand name of each product you enter in the sale (for books, DVDs, and DVDs, you will enter the book title).   People will skip over your item if they cannot see the brand name.  If you have space to write more, you can describe the item (see number 5).


5. DESCRIPTION
Describe the item: type of clothing (shirt, dress, etc), colors/patterns, book author, number of puzzle pieces, clothing's European size (since we size clothes by age), if a product is new/only used once.  Basically you need to tell shoppers what they need know about each item so that they feel confident about purchasing your item. 

Remember that the items in the online shop that do not sell this time can be sold at future sales.  When price tags fall off items at our physical sales, we try to find the item in our database, or we attempt to match the item with one of the tags in our piles of "lost tags."  Describe your items well enough that we would be able find it in our database or match it with a lost tag.

Price to sell -- people are looking for bargains!  Increments of 5 kr only.

6. PRICE
The minimum price per item is 5 kroner.  Items must be priced in increments of 5 kr (5, 10, 15, 20 kr, etc.).   When you enter the price, type the whole kroner amount (no commas and øre).

7. DISCOUNT
You have the option to sell any or all of your items for 50% off during our discount days 22-23 May (and at the half-price pre-sale on 21 May).  We encourage you to sell your items for 50% off -- it is a great way to get rid of your remaining items while still making money on them.  And most of the items that sell during our half price sale are discounted items.

8. DONATE
Please note that the Donate option has been disabled, so please ignore this box.

9. CLEAR DESC. FIELDS. (CLEAR DESCRIPTION FIELDS)
Click this box if you want the description fields to clear with each new item entry.  

10.  Click the Add button, and your item had now been added to your inventory!  Remember to check your list of items in Manage Items to make sure that the photo uploaded fully ( you should see the full picture behind the category words in the category column).

TRANSFERRING ITEMS FROM EARLIER SALES + ADDING A PHOTO

You can transfer unsold items from earlier sales, but you will need to upload a photo for each item in order for it to be added to our online shop.

To transfer items, click on ITEM TRANSFER on your seller page in MyCM.  

Select the event to transfer items from, and the items will appear on the screen.  Check off the items you want to transfer and click on the Transfer Item(s) Now button.  You can now access these items by clicking on Manage Items in your seller page.

ADD A PHOTO
After you transfer items, click on Manage Items.

Then select an item (click on the box to the left of the item) and click on the ARROW by Edit. Then select Add / Edit Photo to upload a photo.
