ZIP TIES (CABLE TIES)
By far the preferred method for attaching tags to most of your items, and to attach item parts together. Lots of size/quantity options for zip ties available at Clas Ohlson. But you can find them in any hardware store (Europris, Jula, Biltema, Coop Obs Bygg, etc.) |
PACKING TAPEWhen you it isn't possible to attach tags with zip ties to items such as toys, baby gear, and sports gear, use clear packing tape. Do not use packing tape to attach tags to books, puzzles, games, and other paper products as the tape will damage the product when the tag is removed. Find at stores like TGR - Staples - Biltema - Clas Ohslon |

HOLE PUNCHERYou need to punch a hole in the top of the price tags in order to attach them to most items. Find hole punchers at TGR (best deal--only kr 15!) - Europris - Clas Ohlson - Biltema - Stoff & Stil

CLEAR, HEAVY DUTY BAGSDO NOT use thin bread or produce plastic bags as they rip easily and the contents go everywhere (think how easy it is to rip open your produce bags--and how easily someone could rip open a bag of toys). Thick, zipper lock bags are best (tape or staple the bag shut). IKEA has a range of sizes at decent prices.
|
SCISSORSYou need scissors to cut out your price tags, etc.
|
HEAVY DUTY STRINGYou can use heavy duty string to attach pieces of items together--especially when zip ties won't work. But do not use thread.
|
BATTERIESToys and equipment that require batteries must have working batteries installed. Shoppers need to know that electronic items work as they should. IKEA has great prices.
|
CLEAR PLASTIC WRAPClear plastic wrap can be wrapped around items such as wooden puzzles--this secures the pieces while also allowing shoppers to see the contents (and that all pieces are there).

SAFETY PINSTry to avoid using safety pins to attach tags (takes more time for cashiers to remove, and easier for people to steal/switch items).
Use LARGE and STURDY safety pins--not small and flimsy ones. (NOTE: DO NOT USE STRAIGHT PINS) |
STAPLERUse a stapler to staple bags of sale items shut (for extra security). But NEVER attach tags with a stapler--never ever ever. They take much longer for the cashiers to remove--and cause finger injuries when removed!
