Shop the Sale at Madla bydelshus
Stavanger Kids Sale is THE PLACE to find quality, gently used items for babies, kids, teens, and parents-to-be in the greater Stavanger area. With 250 sellers and more than 25,000 items at each sale, you just can't beat the selection!
Come and stock up on all the things your kids need for a fraction of the price you'd pay in retail stores! The sale is set up like a retail environment so it is easy to find what you are looking for. Clothes are sorted by gender and age, and like items are grouped together (toys, sports gear, books, etc.).
Due to security and space concerns, shoppers are not permitted to bring strollers/prams, and personal bags (other than a SMALL purse) into the sale hall. Baby carriers that you wear (not infant car seats) are permitted. We will be checking shoppers as they enter and leave. So please plan accordingly.
We provide large IKEA bags for you to use while shopping, but please bring your own reusable bags that we can use to pack up your purchased items. We have a limited supply of donated bags to give out. We’ll have large bags available for purchase. If you bring reusable bags to pack up your purchased items, you may leave them at the bag check, or place them inside the IKEA bag until you check out (do not place unpurchased items in your own personal bags). Thank you!

...Shopping FAQ....
1. When and where is the Stavanger Kids Sale held? How does it work?
We had our first sale in January 2009, and since then have held two sales a year -- in March and September. Most of our sales have been held at Madla Bydelshus, but our Spring 2019 sale was held at Forum Expo as part of the Barnas Forum event. Our Spring 2020/2021/2022 sales were scheduled to take place at Barnas Forum, but were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The social distancing requirements due to COVID-19 prevented us from having physical sales for a while. We had online sales in September 2020, May & September 2021, and March 2022.
Now we are back to having physical sales! Individual sellers register online, price & prepare their items, and drop them off at the sale. Items must be in very good to excellent condition. Sellers earn 70-75% of the selling price.
The Autumn 2024 sale will be held 14-15 September at Madla Bydelshus, and is open from 10:00-16:00 both days. Interested in being a seller? See Seller Info.

3. How do I get to Madla bydelshus? WHERe CAN I PARK?
Madla bydelshus is located at Åsta Kongsmorsgate 20, Hafrsfjord (click here for a map). Lots of parking is available in a parking lot shared by Madla bydelshus and Madlamark kirke, but THESE LOTS FILL QUICKLY AT OUR BUSIEST TIMES -- especially Saturday morning. You may park at Gosen skole just 400 meters away. We encourage you to carpool or take public transportation if you come on Saturday morning. The closest bus stop is Madlamark kirke. Please see www.kolumbus.no for bus routes.
4. Is there a fee to enter?
There is no admission fee.
5. What forms of payment do you accept?
6. Can I bring my kids?
You are welcome to bring your kids to the sale on Saturday and Sunday, but know that the sale can be very busy and crowded (especially Saturday morning). You must keep your kids close to you at all times, and please do not let them play with the toys. Due to space and security concerns, we do not allow customers to bring their own strollers/prams/car seats into the sale hall -- they must be "parked" in the room "stova" just off the café. If you have your baby with you, make sure to bring a baby carrier that you WEAR (not carry).
7. IS THERE A CAFÉ at the sale?
Your family can enjoy a shopping break at the café which is open during the hours of the sale. You can purchase cake, cupcakes & spring rolls made by Liza from The Cupcakery, as well as waffles, coffee, tea & saft.
8. Can I try on clothing?
We do not have dressing rooms to try on clothing. Take your children's measurements and make a note of their sizes before you come to the sale. We will have a few measuring tapes on hand if needed.
9. Is it possible to return an item?
We do not take returns. All sales are final. Please inspect your items carefully before purchasing (remember that they are USED), and ASK if you have questions.
You may find some electrical items (bottle sterilizers, baby monitors, etc.) that have been purchased in countries which have either a different plug, electrical voltage, or both. Therefore, you may need a converter or adapter to use some items in Norway. Read the descriptions on the price tags and make sure you know what you are buying!

How do you know which items are discounted? Have look at the price tag for each item. If it says Discount: Yes, the item will be sold for 50% off. The discount will be applied automatically at checkout. If it says Discount: No, the item will be sold for the full price, and no discount will be applied.
